As a valuable part of the Lewis and Clark Expedition, it became Sacagawea’s personal quest to be the first Shoshone to see the great waters of the Pacific Ocean. As depicted in this bronze interpretation one can only imagine the pride she felt when she finally stood on that knoll, looking at the water, knowing she had crossed the continent and stood on land’s end. She took her baby out of his carrier and shared the vision with him.
