Casting Bronze

STEP 15: Final Step

After each piece has completed the patina process, it receives a sealant of wax. A layer of hot carnauba wax is first applied and hand rubbed onto the surface of the sculpture. Two or three more coats are then applied in the same manner and rubbed to bring out a fine luster and shine. After this wax application the bronze sculpture is based and ready for display in the gallery or for delivery to the client.
