STEP 12: Welding the Bronze

Using the notches that were imprinted onto the original clay and are now visible in the bronze, the sections are matched back up and welded together. The artist and foundry welding crew will refer to the photos and measurements that were taken earlier to ensure that the bronze replica is the same as the original sculpture. The seams are brazed together using a TIG welder and rod made of the same alloy.
